ナイチンゲール誓詞
I solemnly pledge myself before God, and in the presence of this assenmbly, to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithffuly.
I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug.
I will do all in my power to elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in cofidence all personal matters committed to my keeping, and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling.
With loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work, and devote myself to welfare of those committed to my care.
「われはここに集いたる人々の前に厳かに神に誓わん
わが生涯を清く過ごし、わが任務を忠実に尽くさんことを。
われはすべて毒あるもの、害あるものを絶ち、
悪しき薬を用いることなく、また知りつつこれをすすめざるべし。
われはわが力の限りわが任務の標準を高くせんことを努むべし。
わが任務にあたりて、取り扱える人々の私事のすべて、
わが知り得たる一家の内事のすべて、われは人に洩らさざるべし。
われは心より医師を助け、わが手に託されたる人々の幸のために身を捧げん。」
